The VWBC is able to offer an extensive range of services, these services include CAD, CAM and CNC. We have many years of experience in these areas and use the techniques on a daily basis to bring our projects to life. Just because we are wooden boat builders, doesn’t mean we enjoy building the hard way, we prefer to build smart and efficient. We also use these skills to help us with many non-boat related projects.

If you have heard of these terms before but are not familiar with their meaning, this is what they are;

CAD: Computer-aided design is the use of computers to aid in the creation, modification, analysis, or optimization of a design.

CAM: Computer-aided manufacturing is the use of software to control machine tools to aid in the manufacturing of workpieces.

CNC: Computer numerical control is the automated control of machining tools. A CNC machine processes a piece of material to meet specifications by following a coded programmed instruction and without a manual operator directly controlling the machining operation.
